The Marianas Trench is the deepest part of the ocean floor. According to Microsoft Encarta Reference Library, the trench, located here in the western Pacific Ocean, is nearly 1500 miles long and averages 40 miles wide. Its deepest point is about 210 miles southwest of Guam. At this point, the ocean is estimated to be 11,033 m (36,198 ft) deep. That’s nearly seven miles down – deeper than Mount Everest is high. On Guam, when we lose something in the waters off our shores, we refer to it as being “at the bottom of the trench.” Thus, the name of this blog. - Jayne

Jayne, I love your perspective. Your marriage to principles and conviction inspires courage to do what is right and to speak up, especially when that’s not popular. Please keep writing.
